The Most Common Tattoo Designs
Tattoos are done in all sorts of concepts. The motives for getting tattoos are varied, but surprisingly, there are many designs that stand out. These styles often end up in a tattoo artist’s most requested stack. Here, in no particular sequence, are some of the most requested styles in the tattoo world. Tribal – In recent times, tribal tattoo has grown in worldwide recognition and has become one of the most vastly requested tattoos today. Indigenous tattoo types, from the world over, are what inspired modern day tribal tattoo reincarnations. Of all tribal tattoo concepts, Maori inspired ones seem to be the most trendy. I have found a few great Maori designs in Tattoo Fever Ultimate Tattoo Design recently too.
Kanji (Chinese Characters) – Kanji tattoos or tats done in Chinese characters are also exceedingly trendy. This is usually the design of choice of people who are getting their first tattoos. They would get their name translated and have the Chinese depiction of their name tattooed on their body. Solitary symbols such as life, breath, fire, and so on. are also popular.
Stars – If one tattoo design will get the distinction of being the one people request for the most, it would be stars. This could be because of the design’s simplicity and the quantity of meanings it can carry. Nautical stars, specifically, are a popular choice. Star clusters have also become exceedingly popular.
Roses and Hearts – Flowers are a popular tattoo design, but of all the flowers requested, the rose stands out the best. Hearts also share the same magnitude of popularity as the rose. It is also a common occurrence to see roses and hearts jointly in the same design.
Barbwire – This is perhaps the most popular of all band tattoos. They are often found in the ankles, wrists, arms, or legs. These designs also accent or border more elaborate tattoos.
Butterfly – This is especially trendy amid girls. This is often placed on an unseen part of the body – the nape, the lower back, or someplace unseen. Flowers and fairies are popular amongst girls too, although, these two are a favorite of men as well.
Celtic knot work, Celtic Crosses, and Crosses in General – Knotwork is recognized for its intricateness and attention to detail. Crosses are also a popular religious sign.
Tattoo designs in receipt of an honorable mention include the endlessly popular name tattoos – be it a name of a loved one or a stranger, the latter most often a result of a drunken night out. Other trendy tattoo types incorporate fire, pistols, fish, dolphins, dragons, suns, pin-up girls, crowns, eagles, and wings. Cultural symbols are trendy in addition.
Although I am a huge tattoo fan I always advise against people running into tattoo parlor and demanding tattoo me now, as this can lead to problems later when you regret the design and it is too late. So make sure you get it right!
