Really good Young Adult ficition for adults too?
I loved Tiger Eyes by Judy Blume. I have read and loved Mr and Mrs Bo Jo Jones, The President’s Daughter series and The Cheerleader.
What are some other really good YA fiction?
I have already read The Harry Potter series and I don’t care to read the Twilight series.
Check out Cynthia Voigt. Her books are really good and deep. (Particularly Calendar Papers, and Jackaroo – well, Homecoming and that series is deep, but the others are fun reads)
Anne Howard Creel is a YA author who wrote Magic of Ordinary days geared towards adult audiences but certainly appropriate for YA (though YAs might not appreciate it)
I also recently read the Blackstone Key and was trying to figure out if it’s YA or Adult (I think it’s adult but almost YA appropriate)
Catherine Called Birdie by Karen Cushman is cute and is probably a fast read at the younger range of YA.
Princess Bride by S. Morgan Stern/William Goldman written as a true story, but when they talk about Wesley wearing blue jeans…yeah.
And if you haven’t read any Jane Austens, add them to your list. They are wonderful books for all ages
