Help me I D this tree growing in Tampa please.?

I saw a tree downtown that I like and took home some seeds, but I don’t even know what it is. It is 2 stories tall, spreading habit with large (abt 4-5″?) smooth thick leaves. The trunk is grey, smooth and hard (not papery). The fruits it had in the spring started yellow and rippened to a rosey color, about 3/4 inch. Any ideas? I haven’t been able to find it in my book “Florida Landscape Plants” or online (I have tried pulling up some sites that help ID trees and gone thru dozens of photos and drawings – found nothing even close). By the way if anyone wants to see it, it is right on the NW corner of Laurel and Morgan downtown, cater-cornered to the old graveyard.

Crap, now I have to go downtown and look. Gimme till next weekend, ok? Fruit or flowers or both? Any seed pods? Post a photo.
