Should I read the second and third books of the Bartimaeus Trilogy?
I can get the books from the library but they have the first one out and I am going to be out of town for a little while so I can’t wait for the first to be returned.
I was just wondering if I would be missing out a lot if I skipped the first one?

The books are about the same main characters, but other than that there isn’t much continuity between them. Each book is more-or-less self-contained. They’re a trilogy in the original sense.
You might get more out of them if you read them in order, but I don’t think it would hurt to read the second and third and then come back to the first one when the library has it.
